San Gerada de Dota

We went back to San Gerada de Dota again to show Esther. The place was just FULL of quetzals (again). This area was only settled in 1954 and it is thought that the settlers were the first "men" to have seen the valley. At about that time the valley was planted with avacado trees to atract the quetzals and tucanets. There is a large spring feed river running down the valley that is the source of a large trout industry. It's really a beautiful and relativly undiscovered area. Not many tourists. Deb injured herself at Manuel Antonio...something about her foot, nobody really knows what happened...so she hobbled around with a improvised cane. Something like the lack of a foot will not stop her from bird watching!
